Company history at a glance
our law firm in 1972
EBAI LAW FIRM was founded in Limbe over 53 years ago in 1972 by Late BARRISTER EDWARD EYOUNG EBAI a Cambridge trained lawyer. One of the first law firm set up Limbe South West Region to meet the growing legal needs of individuals, private entities and parastatals. The law firm was Particularly adapted at assisting a major oil company in facilitating the Process of dealing with international lenders, financier dealing and debt recovery. The firm also made huge strides in the Real Estate and Finance law
a New Chapter in 1991
Barrister Helen Ebai joined the law firm after 20 years on the bench as magistrate. Under her leadership, the law firm also did a lot of highly valued work in land and real estate matters including briefs, with a special interest in compliance and due diligence matters. The law firm over the years provided strategic internship to tens of trainees who are now prominent lawyers in their own rights. Late Barrister Helen Ebai ended up being appointed by presidential decree a liquidator for former ONCPB.

As the new head of the firm and proud successor of my parents’ legacy, I am committed to upholding their vision while steering the firm into a new era of growth. My goal is to expand our reach, embrace modern legal challenges, and provide forward-thinking legal solutions both locally and internationally. At the heart of my mission is a deep commitment to mentoring and empowering the next generation of legal professionals. I believe in a future where young, dynamic lawyers are given the tools and guidance to thrive.

In 2022, I was honored to be appointed Managing Partner of the prestigious Ebai Law Firm, a firm deeply rooted in excellence, integrity, and a strong commitment to client service. Under the leadership and vision of our Head of Firm, Barrister Iva Ida Bessem Ebai, I continue to play a key role in driving forward our legacy of legal excellence in Cameroon and beyond. Working closely with Barrister Ebai, I am dedicated to expanding our firm's reach in practice areas such as corporate law, real estate, and oil & gas—fields where Ebai Law Firm has long been recognized for its exceptional work. My role as Managing Partner allows me to bridge our firm's rich history with its ambitious future—ensuring that while we honor the foundations laid by our founders, we also adapt and innovate to meet the demands of a changing legal landscape.
